Horizon Works is committed to supporting young people in our local community – and we’re passionate about showing how exciting industrial marketing careers can be.
So we’re thrilled to be working in partnership with Connect Inspires, a career inspiration programme developed by Connect Northumberland.
The initiative connects local employers with young people across the county through workplace visits, hands-on activities and direct engagement with the people who work there.
Through the programme, we’re hosting an event on October 14th at the Energy Central Learning Hub in Blyth, Northumberland, which will give young people the chance to explore careers and opportunities in marketing.
It will provide students with an insight into industrial marketing, from social media content to events.
And it will explore how industries in the North East, such as renewables, subsea and advanced manufacturing, are creating new opportunities for marketing careers.
The event is open to schools across Northumberland and forms part of a programme of events across the region at companies such as Osbit, Arcinova and AkzoNobel.
Students will have the chance to take part in a social media content workshop and hear from marketing experts on their career journeys.

Connect Northumberland was established to enable Northumberland’s employers to participate fully in their county’s workforce development. Its partners include the Royal Academy of Engineering and Northumberland County Council, and it collaborates with Northumbria University, North East Times, Newcastle United Foundation, Sunderland University and Northumberland College.
