INDUSTRY EVENT TO FOCUS ON NEW HORIZONS IN THE ENERGY SECTOR

Engineering and manufacturing companies in the North East will get an insight into the opportunities, capabilities and facilities of the Energy Central cluster in Blyth next month.

We’re teaming up with Engineering and Manufacturing Network (EMN), the Energy Central Learning Hub and Port of Blyth to deliver New Horizons in the Energy Sector, which will take place on July 29.

Hosted by the Energy Central Learning Hub, this EMN networking event will explore opportunities and developments in North East England’s renewable energy sector, and showcase the exciting progress being made at Port of Blyth.

Paul Valentine, Head of Operations at Energy Central Campus, will show how the campus – which includes the Energy Central Learning Hub and the planned £25 million Energy Central Institute in Blyth – is creating a talent pipeline for the clean energy sector, driving STEM engagement and delivering pathways to employment for the local community.

David Williams, Commercial Manager at Port of Blyth will provide an overview of new developments at the port, its role in offshore wind and its support for the engineering and manufacturing supply chain. David will also explore the opportunities for companies to integrate into the Energy Central cluster around the Blyth Estuary, and how they can grow their businesses in Blyth.

We’ll be presenting on marketing in the renewables sector, with a particular focus on offshore wind. Our team will be providing advice on shaping marketing tactics and messaging for engagement with the supply chain, and will guide delegates on new marketing trends and developments. We’ll also be talking about own experiences of relocating to Blyth.

Delegates will also get the chance to take a tour of the state-of-the-art Energy Central Learning Hub facility, which includes electrical and mechanical workshops, classrooms, digital skills training facilities and an immersive Clean Energy Visitor Centre.

There’ll be networking and refreshments and there is free on-site parking at the site.

Registration starts at 9.30am, with event close at 12.30pm, and it’s open to EMN members and non-member engineering and manufacturing companies.

Samantha Vassallo, Managing Director of Horizon Works, said: “As an EMN Affiliate, we’re delighted to be welcoming EMN members to Horizon Works’ ‘home town’ of Blyth and to be partnering with our neighbours at the Port of Blyth and the Energy Central Learning Hub.

“With clients across the renewables supply chain, and a close relationship with Energi Coast, North East England’s offshore wind cluster, we’re very much part of the region’s green energy ecosystem – and we can see at first hand the major role Blyth is playing in the energy transition.

“It’s a very exciting place to be at the moment, with opportunities opening up for engineering and manufacturing companies who can support the Energy Central cluster around the Blyth estuary.

“This event will provide valuable insights into the current renewable energy landscape in Blyth, guide businesses on how to position themselves in the sector, and showcase the incredible facilities offered by the Energy Central Learning Hub.”

Ailsa Anderson, Director of Development at EMN, added: “EMN has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Horizon Works, and we’re delighted to be strengthening this partnership even further. Building on Horizon Works’ strong connections across both the manufacturing and renewable energy sectors, this collaboration will spotlight the exciting developments at the Port of Blyth and the Energy Central Campus.

“Horizon Works will also share their expertise in helping our members effectively promote themselves within this rapidly growing supply chain. Together, this reinforces the value of our long-term partnership and the opportunities it creates for our network.”
