CELEBRATING THE PEOPLE BEHIND HORIZON WORKS

At Horizon Works, we know that great businesses are built by great people. While we’re passionate about helping our clients achieve their marketing goals, we’re equally committed to creating a positive, supportive and rewarding workplace for our own team.

That’s why we launched our Good Vibes Programme last year; an initiative designed to recognise achievements, celebrate success, support wellbeing and reinforce the values that make Horizon Works a great place to work.

Putting people first

The Good Vibes Programme is built around a simple principle: when people feel valued, supported and connected, they do their best work.

The programme brings together a range of activities and initiatives that promote wellbeing, encourage collaboration, recognise individual and team achievements, and create opportunities for colleagues to connect beyond their day-to-day roles.

Recognising and celebrating success

Whether it’s delivering exceptional work for a client, supporting a colleague, demonstrating one of our core values or achieving a personal milestone, we believe success deserves to be recognised. Through the Good Vibes Programme, we celebrate the contributions that help drive our business forward and make Horizon Works a positive place to work.

“On a weekly basis, we meet to acknowledge the energy, dedication and creativity that we have put into our projects,” says Richard Holmes, our Business Development and Marketing Manager. “That could be recognising a particularly inventive creative campaign shaped by our design team, sharing positive feedback from a client, or celebrating the conclusion of a successful website build. It helps us feel appreciated and gets the week off to a great start!”

Supporting wellbeing

Employee wellbeing is a key focus of the programme. We recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life and are committed to creating an environment where our team feels supported both professionally and personally.

By encouraging open communication, collaboration and a positive working culture, we’re helping to ensure our people can thrive.

One of our initiatives is a wellbeing day, where staff can book time off, in addition to their holidays, to focus on a health-focused and relaxing activity.

“The wellbeing day has been a great addition to the Good Vibes programme,” says Sean Merone, our Digital Marketing Specialist. “It allows us to take a day to relax and recharge after a particularly busy period or challenging project. It is greatly appreciated by the team.”

Strengthening our culture

The Good Vibes Programme also plays an important role in bringing our values to life. It helps strengthen relationships across the team, build a sense of belonging and create a culture where people genuinely enjoy working together.

By investing in our people and our culture, we’re not only creating a better workplace but also ensuring we continue to deliver the energy, creativity and commitment our clients expect from Horizon Works.

Our Good Vibes initiatives reflect this. We’ve shared recipes during our health eating months, supported each other on our step challenges, and in a recent challenge, built sustainable practices into our working days – with points awarded for nurturing plants, car sharing, litter picking, going plastic free and more.

Here’s our sustainability ambassador and PR and Content Specialist, Louise Fielding-Smith, on the impact of the sustainability initiative…

“For me, this sustainability challenge wasn’t just a competition, it was a powerful reminder that the daily choices we make collectively shape the future of our planet.

“Initiatives like this are vital as they bridge the gap between thinking about environmental issues and taking real, measurable action. It can be difficult as individuals to feel like we are having an impact, but by turning green habits into a shared company goal, we have been able to grow a culture where sustainability is part of our daily routine, not an afterthought. The initiative goes hand-in-hand with how Horizon Works is aligned with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).

“Every small swap we made – and have continued with since – proves that when a community unites behind a shared purpose, we can drive meaningful change.

“I am pleased that the company did this and was glad to take part, and I hope we all continue to carry this momentum forward.”

Forging connections

From garden parties and pizza making workshops to escape rooms, bowling to bubble football, our social activities help our team bond, work together and have fun!

“We appreciate that everyone has commitments outside work, so our social activities are planned within working days, ensuring everyone can attend them,” explains Samantha Vassallo, our Managing Director. “Inclusivity is very important to Horizon Works and we want everyone who works here to feel valued and part of the team.”

Looking ahead

The Good Vibes Programme reflects our belief that business success and employee wellbeing go hand in hand.

As Horizon Works continues to grow, we’ll continue investing in initiatives that support our team, celebrate achievements and foster the positive culture that sits at the heart of everything we do.

After all, good work starts with good people and that’s what the Good Vibes Programme is all about.
