HELPING COMPANIES TO SEIZE THE OFFSHORE WIND OPPORTUNITY

The offshore wind sector is one of the most exciting and fast-evolving industries in the UK.

It’s a place where innovation thrives, ambitious businesses can secure roles in world-leading projects, and groundbreaking technologies are shaping the future of energy.

That’s why we’re passionate about helping companies enter the sector, build their profiles and accelerate their growth within it.

As an industrial marketing partner for organisations working in the renewables supply chain, we were delighted to share our expertise with the engineering and manufacturing community at two recent events in our home town of Blyth, a hub at the heart of the UK’s energy transition.

The New Horizons in the Energy Sector Engineering and Manufacturing Network (EMN) event on July 29 brought together Horizon Works, Port of Blyth and Energy Central Campus to showcase the latest offshore wind developments, emerging opportunities and practical guidance on how businesses can engage with the industry.

Hosted at the Energy Central Learning Hub, a £15 million STEM education and vocational training facility located at the Port of Blyth, the event attracted more than 50 EMN members from North East England, alongside businesses from further afield, all keen to explore the opportunities within the sector.

We were also pleased to contribute to the EMN Business Breakfast on September 8 at the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult’s world-leading facilities in Blyth.

Joining ORE Catapult’s Dylan Hill, Magnus Willett (pictured below) and Dr Davood Sabaei, we took part in a session exploring market drivers, project lifecycles, cost considerations and the evolving offshore wind supply chain, giving attendees valuable insight into one of the UK’s most significant growth sectors.

Across both events, we shared practical marketing guidance designed to help businesses connect more effectively with contractors, developers and key stakeholders. Topics included positioning and messaging, tactical marketing approaches, and navigating the specialist media and events landscape that supports the offshore wind ecosystem.

And we also highlighted significant opportunities emerging in North East England, with a particular focus on the priorities set out in the recently launched 10 Year Vision and Strategy for North East England Offshore Wind.

Samantha Vassallo, Managing Director of Horizon Works, commented: “As an Affiliate of EMN and a company deeply embedded in the offshore wind sector, it was fantastic to see so many businesses making the journey to Blyth to explore the opportunities available. We were delighted to share our experience and marketing expertise, while also showcasing the outstanding facilities, capabilities and innovation ecosystem that exist here in North East England.

“It was also fantastic to partner with the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, Energy Central Campus and Port of Blyth in helping businesses to gain a better understanding of the offshore wind landscape, both in North East England and further afield.”

Ailsa Anderson, Director of Development at EMN, added: “EMN and Horizon Works have been in partnership for over six years and in that time they have supported our members to raise their game in manufacturing marketing across a wide range of sub sectors.

“It’s great working with the whole team at Horizon Works and we hope to maintain our partnership for many more years to come.
